I was commissioned by Cheil Colombia, an advertising agency to design an app aimed at enhancing the abilities of Samsung promoters. The outcome? Promoters have seen notable enhancements in sales skills and product knowledge, resulting in higher customer satisfaction and improved sales performance.

Background

Samsung is a leading technology company known for its smartphones, TVs, and home appliances. To enhance sales and product awareness, Samsung employs a team of promoters. However, these promoters often lack adequate training resources, requiring a fast and effective way to improve their sales skills.

Project Goal

Design an innovative sales training app that empowers promoters with easy-to-use tools for organized training, detailed progress tracking, efficient scheduling, engaging content delivery, and effective user management, aiming to boost promoter performance and operational effectiveness.

Problem

Current sales promoter training lacks organization, effective tracking, and engaging content delivery, leading to performance gaps. There is a critical need for a solution that simplifies training management, improves tracking and engagement, and enhances promoter efficiency.

Solution

Create a user-friendly app for sales promoters, offering streamlined training organization, detailed progress tracking, seamless scheduling, varied content formats, and intuitive user management. Enhance promoter performance and operational efficiency.

Meet the users

User Journey

We defined the user journey to gain deep insights into the needs, challenges, and motivations of Samsung promoters within their sales environment. This understanding guides the design of an intuitive app interface that addresses their specific requirements, enhances usability, boosts engagement, and aligns closely with their goals of improving sales skills and product knowledge.

Information Architecture

We designed the Information Architecture to ensure Samsung promoters can easily navigate and access training content, product catalogs, and performance metrics. This clear and intuitive structure helps promoters quickly find the resources they need to improve their sales skills and product knowledge.

Sketches & Raw Wireframes

The initial wireframes provided a foundational layout for the app, focusing on functionality and user flow. These blueprints showcased key elements like training modules, tracking dashboards, and navigation menus, ensuring an intuitive and engaging experience for Samsung promoters from the start.

Colors & Typography

The color palette and typography were chosen to enhance the user experience for Samsung promoters. We selected clean, modern fonts that ensure readability and professionalism, reflecting the high standards of the Samsung brand. 

The app

Xpert is a sales training app with a simple, intuitive interface. It includes all essential elements for a 360 training plan and can organize on-site and remote events.

Global Assets

Features include: registering attendance, reporting, and scheduling for coaches, coordinators and supervisors.

Xpert CMS

A CMS was also designed for the project, ensuring seamless content management, real-time updates, and efficient distribution of training materials and product information to Samsung promoters.

Outcomes, Reflections & Next Steps

Outcomes & Metrics

The training app improved Samsung promoters’ sales skills, reducing information lookup time and increasing engagement through gamification. A data-driven CMS provided actionable insights, helping administrators optimize content.

What We Did Well

We designed an intuitive, scalable CMS and successfully integrated gamification. The feedback system fostered continuous skill improvement, enhancing user engagement and learning retention.

What I Would Improve

Enhancing usability testing, adding adaptive learning paths, AI-driven feedback, and deeper analytics would refine workflows, personalization, and decision-making.
